John-Jonne Smith is an LA-based filmmaker and content creator. Born to a 13-year-old teen mom, John-Jonne was raised by his grandmother Bertha in Marion, IN. Finding his way after moving to LA in 2011, John-Jonne has worked for industry vets, Tisha Campbell-Martin and Duane Martin, “All American” on the CW Network, and with “Empire” Casting Directors, Leah Daniels-Butler and Jessie Collins to name a few.
He is a first-generation graduate of California State University, Northridge where he majored in communication studies and film where some of his mentors include Robert Townsend and Eunetta Boone. John-Jonne began to experience hair loss at 18. This led him to create, write, produce, and star in cinematic sketches and a two-season show for Facebook Watch, “Bald: The Series”. The viral show also had guest stars Dominique Perry of HBO’s “Insecure” and KeVontay Jackson of “Dear White People”.
Today, John-Jonne is currently hosting a variety comedy show, “Unserious” airing across all social platforms, in pre-production on his first feature film “Bald Movie”, and recently launched an online course for up-and-coming content creators named the “Creator’s Playbook”. His social media presence currently focuses on beauty and lifestyle wrapped into humor.
